“Copper turns to gold” was commissioned in 2022 and is located just north of Auckland. The clients wanted the work to be 9 metres tall and kinetic. They also wanted to repurpose some old copper water cylinders they had acquired from another property. The work is made from a mixture of galvanized steel and Aluminium and the coppers were used as covers around the bearing housings so the bearings could be acessed for maintenence.
